What is an Ezine?

Copyright 2002 Terri Seymour I would like to cover how you can promote your ezine and build your subscriber base. There are several ways of doing this, including writing articles, ad swapping, announcement lists for ezines, group pop-up windows, and more. *WRITING ARTICLES* After you have decided on the subject and design of your ezine, you want to get the word out and get some subscribers. One of the most powerful ways of doing this is by writing articles and submitting them to other publishers. Besides getting you subscribers, this will build your credibility and your reputation as someone who knows what they are doing and what they are talking about. This is a crucial step in building your business. Writing articles is not as hard as you might think. Write as if you were just talking to a friend. Do not bother with big, fancy words. It is better to be more personal and to get right to the point. For more information on writing and submitting your articles mailto:getideas@getresponse.com and mailto:yesarticles@getresponse.com *ANNOUNCEMENT LISTS AND EZINE DIRECTORIES* This is another way of letting people know about your ezine for free. Submit to as many directories as you can and subscribe to announcement lists and send your announcement as often as they allow. I have received numerous subscriptions this way. Visit www.google.com and do a search for ezine directories and get started. For announcement lists, visit http://www.topica.com and http://www.yahoogroups.com and do a search for ezine announcement lists or groups. Be sure to follow all the guidelines when submitting or announcing. *AD SWAPPING* This is also a very effective way of promoting your ezine. This works by contacting a fellow publisher and asking if he/she would be interested in doing an ad swap. Tell them a little about your ezine, when you can run their ad, where they can read a sample issue of your ezine and you could also send your ad. If they are interested, they will reply and send their ad. So in return for them running your ad in their ezine, you will run their ad in your ezine. This works very well for both sides. If you don't know where to find other publishers to swap visit here: http://www.google.com and search for ad swap. I have just touched on the tip of the iceberg when it comes to free promotion on the Internet. As time goes by and you gain more experience you will learn numerous ways of promoting your ezine. If you have any questions on anything covered in this article, feel free to email me anytime. I wish you much success! ********************* Terri Seymour helps people start or build their online business by providing resources, tools, guidance and more.
