Flying In Formation - Wisdom From Nature For The Internet
- (Inspired by the Goose Story)

Just as nature can teach us off the internet, some of her lessons are
powerful on the net. When you are planning your website strategy,
consider the lessons offered here. When you see geese flying along in V
formation, you may wonder why they choose this particular pattern. As
each bird flaps its wings, it creates an uplift for the bird immediately
following.

By flying in V formation, the whole flock adds at least 71 percent
greater flying range than if each bird flew on its own. We, too, can get
get much farther if we operate in community - supporting and uplifting
each other. Particularly on the internet, we will go much farther if we
work in formation with others who are on the same journey. Some of the
best marketing tips involve participating in online discussion groups,
sharing ideas and solutions, and staying with the "group". Flying alone
doesn't work any better on the net than it does for a goose.

When a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and
resistance of trying to go it alone ... and quickly gets back into
formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird in front.

If your internet business is not working as well as you'd hoped, examine
how you are contributing to the online community and
ask if there might be more opportunity to help uplift others.

Are you out of formation with your fellow netpreneurs?

Many of the success stories on the internet do just that. They write and
contribute articles, ideas, suggestions. They value
and honor the community they are in, instead of simply trying to get from
it. The internet is an interactive marketing experience: you will get back
what you give out.

When the head goose tires, it rotates back in the wing and another goose
flies point.

We are not alone on this planet, we do not have to do everything solo.
Especially on the net. There are many who will take the lead for us when
we are depleted. We simply need to ask. If we have been active in
supporting others, we can count on their support in return.

Geese honk from behind to encourage each other!

Instead of always looking for what you can get from the net: business,
more hits, more sales, etc. - look for someone who needs your encouraging
honk! It is a universal rule that what you give out will come back. If
you wish support, give it!

If you wish for more hits or sales, offer ideas and support to others on
how to increase their hits or sales. Honk for your
fellow netizens! They need it just as much as you do!

Finally, if a goose becomes ill or is wounded by gunshots and falls out of
formation, two other geese fall out with the wounded goose and remain with
it to lend help and protection. They stay with the goose until it either
recovers or dies. Only then do they launch out and return to their group.

Be willing to really care. If someone needs your help, be there. No
business is worth abandoning those we really care about.

I believe the internet is setting new values and bringing out great
truths. Geographic boundaries are becoming mist as we email across the
world. Cultural awareness is spreading. We have the opportunity to make
friends worldwide - and to make a difference worldwide.

So, when you are creating the plan for your online business, or listing
your strategies for success, be sure to include in your plans that you
plan to play an active part in supporting your fellow netizens. It may be
the singular most important strategy you can employ in this arena. And,
also include in your strategies that you plan to fly farther because you
will have the uplifting energy from others.
