Need a Job? Become a Small Business Owner

It’s now 2011 and with jobs still hard to find, your best bet may be to create your own job. That could be why starting a new business was emphasized on Good Morning America (GMA) this morning. Contributor Tory Johnson spoke about getting that new small business up and running. In the video below she gives a synopsis of start-up guidelines that will aid in pulling together that smart business idea.

First step: Be sure you truly want to be a small business owner. This isn’t something you should pursue because nothing better has come along. It’s not something to seek because of financial desperation. It’s incredibly hard work with inevitable obstacles along the way, which means you have to really want it if you expect to be successful. Starting a business must be your primary plan, not your fall back.
