Health Search Engine - Finding Medical Information Health Search Engine - Finding Medical Information

Website101 has provided information on medical insurance to small business owners for over 5 years in an effort to serve self employed business and micro-enterprise owners. Because a search for healthcare information seems to be limited by major sites to their own network and broad searches on the major search engines return a lot of poor quality sites in results, we've partnered with Healia® - a vertical search engine developed specifically to provide trusted medical and health resources in their search results. In their own words:

Healia consistently provides high quality search results. This is largely accomplished through Healia's patent-pending Quality Index Score™, which examines numerous characteristics of content that are related to the quality of health information. Because our results are ranked based on both the relevancy of the content to the search term and the quality of the content, Healia ensures that you get the highest quality results. With Healia, you won't be inundated with unreliable search results like on other search engines.

The PEW Internet and American Life Project, in an October 29, 2006 study titled "Online Health Search 2006, found the following:

Eighty percent of American internet users, or some 113 million adults, have searched for information on at least one of seventeen health topics. Most internet users start at a general search engine when researching health and medical advice online. Just 15% of health seekers say they “always” check the source and date of the health information they find online, while another 10% say they do so “most of the time.” Fully three-quarters of health seekers say they check the source and date “only sometimes,” “hardly ever,” or “never,” which translates to about 85 million Americans gathering health advice online without consistently examining the quality indicators of the information they find. Most health seekers are pleased about what they find online, but some are frustrated or confused.

Chris Sherman of SearchEngineWatch wrote an interesting piece in response to the PEW study on health search, titled Rampant Malpractice by Health Searchers, in which he emphasizes the PEW finding that people rarely check the source of health information found in online searches.

So WebSite101 is pleased to present a valuable and trusted source for searching health care and medical information. Please let us know if you find the Helia® search to be effective in your healthcare informations search. Please let us know how this search performs for you!

WebSite101 also offers a customized Google Search Engine to help small business owners find Health Insurance Information Search.

When you are looking for INFORMATION about health care insurance, it can be extremely hard to find online. You can easily find hundreds of sites to SELL you health insurance, but far fewer that will answer your questions in an unbiased way. So to address an obvious need, this customized search engine is all about researching healthcare, rather than buying insurance and getting quotes. Our own Health Care & Insurance Articles are included in the results, but so are other well known resources that provide real understandable healthcare articles, insurance glossaries, frequently asked questions on health, along with news and commentary on current health issues.
