Even with my extended absence from the WebSite101 Reading
List, the readership has continued a steady growth due to
the popularity of the "WebSite101 Short Course - How to get
my business online!" Subscription requests continued to come
in daily by referral from that course and many of you have
not received your first weekly tip sheet from us until today!
We have not lost a single subscriber during the lull in
publishing and I want to thank you each for staying with us.
I'd like to thank everyone for their patience and spreading
the word about the Reading List. WebSite101 has ranked first
in MSN Search, Lycos Directory, and AltaVista for several
search terms and we've been fortunate to be listed by IBM's
Internet.com under e-commerce tutorials with several big
University Courses! Our website links continue to grow and
send us more traffic than even the search engines do with
those top rankings. We *even* made it into Yahoo! FINALLY!
WebSite101 has been recognized as a "Best Of The Web"
site by
Surfers Choice and applications for our A+ Award at WebSite101
have soared! If you are among the applicants, rest assured
that your site will be reviewed and you will be contacted.If

Life Gets in the Way!

I've heard that moving is the most stressful thing in the
average person's life next to divorce. Well, due to my
devotion to the web, I nearly got divorced - and then we
got back together and MOVED! In the midst of all of that
my wife had emergency surgery, I got good and ill and just
when I thought all was returning to normal, my computer
suffered a serious hard drive crash!
Something had to give and it was this newsletter and my
online life. I've learned some hard lessons and I'm return-
ing to my second love - E-commerce and the web - with gusto.
I've realized that the possibilities the internet offers
are worth all of the struggle it takes to make it on the
web. I'm overflowing with IDEAS, not just ideas - IDEAS,
that could blow the world away! I'm gonna keep 'em
under my hat - for now, but watch out for some great ones
hatching right here under the watchful eye of my loyal
readers.
I'll bet you have an idea or two up your sleeve too! What
I'd like to begin with this issue is a brainstorming forum.
If you have questions or ideas, share them with the other
hundreds of readers of this list! We'll bat them around and
improve on them if we can. If enough interest is shown, I'll
launch a moderated list just to host the brainstorming.

I'm committed to making WebSite101 the premier place for
entrepreneurs on the web. This will be a spot where ideas
are nurtured and egos fed. As a webmaster I have lent my
time to several start-up companies with great ideas and
tremendous potential, but little money. I'd like to continue
that tradition by gathering the knowledge and resources of
the amazing subscribers to the WebSite101 Reading List. We
will all contribute to each other in time and ideas, if not
money.
